This new BF 2042 theme was close enough to the expectations:
But jokes aside, the visual artists did an outstanding job. However, not everything that glitters is gold. Hopefully the programming team did an equally excellent work as the artists did (does the knife work properly? ).
Looks promising though, no question about it.
Not that I would play it anyways. As an old captain sinks with his ship, so am I leaving video games behind as BC2 slowly but surely dies.

The marketing engine of EA just works ... I always fall in love with their trailers.
Sure the graphics of the game and sound will be great and top notch, but I doubt it will provide any good team play features again. All got lost since BF2 ...
A working knife @ nino? You mean the same stupid physics like in BC2?

What's the problem with jumping 5 meters far and stabbing people through walls, but not being able to knife people through an open window? Looks like legit physics to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯[RC]Hunter wrote: ↑24 Jun 2021, 09:01A working knife @ nino? You mean the same stupid physics like in BC2?

Compared to the trailers, the actual gameplay looks rather disappointing and not much different from previous titles. But to be fair, it's "just" the alpha release (as you can tell by the flickering bushes and wonky death animations). Also the map settings and playing style of the tester could have influenced the gameplay in a negative way.
Anyhow, I totally understand why you would switch from BC2 to BF2042.
Recently, after a months+ break from BC2, I decided to empty my mind for a bit. It took me 13 attempts to login with my account and 6 additional attempts to join a server. My patience was rewarded with a mostly empty server list, a bunch of campers, disbalanced teams, boredom and frustration. Wasted 30 precious minutes with this crap. Probably deleting it soon.
At this point it's possible to squeeze out more enjoyment from horrendous games like Virtual Hydlide with its 5 frames per second than from BC2.
